It’s no longer possible to hide the truth: Bangladesh has lost control over parts of its Myanmar border. Armed separatist groups from Myanmar have effectively seized multiple areas along the frontier. Even the Foreign Affairs Advisor has admitted—they took our land before any corridor agreement was signed! So the question is: what happens if the corridor deal actually goes through?
If, after the agreement, they advance into Cox’s Bazar, the Chittagong Hill Tracts, or even deeper into our territory, will we still shamelessly say, “They’ve taken control now”? Is this part of state policy—or a grand act of national surrender?
What’s even more alarming is the apparent collusion between military authorities and international forces, seemingly moving toward the deliberate ceding of Bangladeshi land. Some covert pact is endangering the sovereignty of the nation. The long-standing warning from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina—that there is a plot to create a new state from parts of Myanmar and Bangladesh—now seems dangerously close to reality.
Where is the resistance? Where are the law enforcement agencies? Where is the patriotism?
The inaction, apathy, and obsession with power shown by those in charge today have placed the very existence of the nation at risk. Diplomatic failure, weak border management, and a willingness to trade land for political convenience are completely unacceptable.
If we do not awaken now—if we do not organize, mobilize, and resist—our map will soon change. And history will remember us not as the nation that fought for its freedom, but as the one that handed over its land without a fight.
This shame will haunt our generations to come.
