Nahid Islam and Atik Morshed Two Immovable Pillars of Corruption Weighing Down the Nation
SHARE

The true character of this political puppet named Nahid Islam has finally come to light. From serving as an information advisor to orchestrating a drama under the guise of forming a new political party — what lay behind the scenes? Embezzlement of Tk 150 crore, reckless distribution of jobs to relatives, and the forceful takeover of institutions under the influence of power — none of these are isolated incidents. They are part of a continuing pattern in Nahid Islam’s political career.

Atik Morshed is merely an instrument of Nahid’s corruption. Together, they set their sights on Nagad, the mobile banking company. Allegations of misappropriating Tk 150 crore in collusion with Deputy CEO Muiz Nasnim Taki do not point solely at Atik; they directly implicate Nahid Islam as well. One has to wonder: did Nahid remain silent without claiming a share of the loot? Or was he the mastermind behind the entire operation?

Atik Morshed holds no official position at Nagad, yet he maintained a private office on the 6th floor of the Nagad headquarters! Could there be a clearer case of deception? Not only that, he appointed his wife Jakia Sultana Jui as the Compliance Manager and placed other relatives in jobs there. This wasn’t an administrative decision — it was a mafia-style power play. What magic did Atik perform during Nahid Islam’s tenure that his misdeeds went unnoticed? Or were they overlooked deliberately?

Though Muiz Nasnim Taki was arrested by DB police, Atik Morshed intervened to ensure he wasn’t sent to jail. This raises a critical question: Who gave Atik so much power? Is it under Nahid Islam’s protection that these corrupt individuals remain above the law? Or is Nahid himself their patron?

Nahid Islam claims that the “wealthy” donate to his political party. But who are these wealthy donors? Are they the ones who loot institutions like Nagad to fund Nahid’s political ambitions? Will Nahid come clean about the real sources of these donations? Or is this just a money-laundering operation disguised as political fundraising?

Despite the overwhelming allegations against Atik Morshed, Nahid Islam remains silent. This is a classic tactic of the guilty — silence when caught. But people are no longer fooled. Nahid’s silence confirms his deep involvement in this grand-scale looting.

One was a former Information Advisor, the other his personal aide — both deeply entrenched in corruption. Embezzlement of Nagad funds, nepotism, interference in police investigations — these are not isolated incidents. They are the dark underbelly of Nahid Islam’s political journey.

If Nahid Islam were truly innocent, he would have handed Atik Morshed over to the police by now. But he hasn’t — because he knows Atik’s testimony will destroy him. Nahid Islam’s politics is the politics of a looter syndicate. And the fall of this syndicate is only a matter of time.
