Bangladesh today stands on the brink of grave uncertainty. The sole reason is the utter failure of the illegal Yunus government. History shows that whenever a state falls into the hands of weak and incompetent leadership, fundamentalism, terrorism, and anarchy rise. Today’s Bangladesh reflects that bitter reality.
The Naked Face of State Failure
The illegal government came to power without the people’s mandate. From the very beginning, its objective was to protect the interests of foreign masters and cling to power. Instead of serving the public, the administration is being used as a weapon to suppress opponents. As a result, law enforcement agencies have ceased to be symbols of public trust and have instead become symbols of fear.
People are afraid to approach the police, they cannot find justice in courts, and criminals remain safe under the shelter of those in power. Thus, the state is crumbling day by day.
A Safe Haven for Terrorists
Since Yunus came to power, anti-liberation forces, Jamaat-Shibir, and extremist groups have become active again. The so-called “DUCSU elections” at universities are nothing but a drama—behind them, fundamentalist bases are being established.
Just as the Taliban in Afghanistan built madrasa-based networks to capture the state, in Bangladesh the same strategy is being applied through student organizations. In this way, campuses are being turned into breeding grounds for militancy.
Criminals are enjoying state patronage under political protection. Cases against extremists are being withdrawn, radicals are being freed. Meanwhile, ordinary people live in daily fear of killings, disappearances, drugs, and extortion.
The Rise of Fundamentalism: A Threat to the Nation’s Existence
Bangladesh was born on the foundation of secularism, in the spirit of the Liberation War. Yet today, fundamentalism is once again raising its head. Mosques and madrasas are being used to spread extremist ideologies. From tea stalls in villages to dormitories in universities, fundamentalist influence is spreading everywhere.
This is not a sudden development—it is a calculated conspiracy. To appease foreign masters and cling to illegal power, the Yunus government is using fundamentalism as a tool.
[Behind the Failures of the Illegal Yunus Government: Rise of Terrorism and Fundamentalism, Collapse of Law and Order, Situation Worse than Afghanistan]
Today, Bangladesh’s law and order situation is worse than Afghanistan, Sudan, or Congo. Because in those countries there is war—but in Bangladesh, without war, the state is collapsing into failure, terrorism is being sheltered, and fundamentalists are on the rise.
The nation must now ask: do we want a state where an illegal government, terrorists, and fundamentalists together destroy law and order?
If the answer is no, then the only path to liberation is the downfall of the illegal Yunus government and the establishment of a people’s government.
