Bangladesh today is no longer an ordinary state—it has become a terrifying empire of corruption, where ethics, public service, and accountability have all been auctioned off. Bribery has become the norm at every level of government, and job appointments, transfers, and promotions in the administration have turned into a fully commercialized industry. Where once a bribe of 10,000 taka could get the job done, now it takes 50,000. And for top government posts? Nothing under several crores!
In Government Offices, Bribes—Not Merit—Determine Positions
Under the current Yunus administration, top posts in the government appear to be sold in open auctions. Here are some alarming examples:
• SP Transfers – Starting at 5 crore, going up to 20 crore taka
• DC Appointments – 5–10 crore in large districts, up to 20 crore in Cox’s Bazar
• Chairman of Chittagong Port – “Transferred” for 200 crore taka
• WASA (Dhaka and Chittagong) – Key positions auctioned for 100–200 crore
• University Vice Chancellors – Selling out academic leadership for 5–20 crore
• Director Generals, Secretaries of Prisons, Customs, etc. – Taken over for 20–100 crore
• Advisors and Assistant Advisors – Appointed with bribes of 100–200 crore taka
This is not a state—it’s an open gambling den. The fate of the people is being auctioned off.
People Want to Know: Who Is Backing This Corruption?
The main drivers of this disgraceful looting are not just bureaucrats, but also powerful political broker networks, self-serving political parties, and so-called intellectuals and activists. Groups like NCP, Jamaat, AB Party, and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement are allegedly involved in this business. The Chief Advisor, Principal Secretary, PS-APS, and some “influential” political circles have turned the public job market into a billion-taka trade. Service-mindedness is gone—only greed remains as the guiding principle of state leadership.
No Public Service, Only Transactional Politics
Today, whether it’s the land office, passport office, courts, or even hospitals—nothing moves without bribes. You need to pay police to file a General Diary (GD), bribe the union office for a birth certificate, or appease local leaders to get government allowances.
This corrupt system not only makes people’s lives unbearable—it is eroding the very foundation of society.
Experts say this is the final looting spree before the fall of the government. It’s a race to grab as much as possible. This mindset is pushing the administration toward terrifying chaos and collapse. When corruption becomes the norm, it is no longer an anomaly—it becomes the state’s core policy. And Bangladesh has reached exactly that point.
Time for a National Anti-Bribery Uprising
Bribery is not just an economic crime—it is a moral genocide. It pushes the nation toward destruction and crushes the dreams of the younger generation. If the people of this country do not rise against this looting today, there will be no future tomorrow.
❝We want merit, not bribes; a nation, not brokers!
We reject a corrupt Bangladesh—
We demand transparency, accountability, and good governance!❞
Today’s Bangladesh no longer belongs to the people—it seems like a private auction house owned by a few corrupt, position-hungry, and greedy bureaucrats and politicians. A state where justice, administration, law and order, education, and healthcare are all for sale can never be a safe haven for its citizens.
Now is the time—with new spirit, new strength, and new leadership—to break the venomous fangs of corruption.
