The announcement by the Biden Administration on possible sanctions against the International Criminal Court has held the potential of the new US onslaught against nations standing up to the cause for the ongoing genocide in Palestine by Israel.

The top US diplomat Antony Blinken, in an unapologetic tone, confirmed probable US move as ICC prosecutor seeks arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials.

Observers say this latest US assault on ICC indicates a veiled threat for nations that are vocal to hold Israel accountable for war crimes. Another point that came out is sanctions remained just an interest-driven US tool, with nothing to do with the stated objective.

It appears to achieve Biden’s interest, sanction is a scare tactic that would be applied, a favourite playbook from Captain America’s arsenal.

Moreover, this move has once again opened up the hypocritical stance taken by the Biden administration: the over-hyped crusade for democracy and rights issues is only to serve in the interest of the Biden Administration, the lecturing of rules-based world order is nothing less than mockery.

“If you ( a nation) talks against Israel atrocities, Captain America will unleash a barrage after you”, says one political observer.

Smaller nations that remained committed to raising voices against the atrocities are now on the verge of facing the wrath of the US, they added.

The long talk about making human rights a universal thing by Biden and Blinken now appears as a mere cover-up for the US.
