In Kalinagar of Dacope upazila, Khulna district, BNP-Jamaat-backed terrorists launched a brutal attack on the home of Sohel Sana, a Youth League activist. They vandalized the house and mercilessly beat his elderly father, Tofsar Sana — himself a longtime Awami League activist.

Despite the severity of this politically motivated violence, the administration remains silent. No arrests have been made. Instead, the victim’s family is reportedly being pressured to remain quiet and suppress the incident.

An attack on a Youth League activist’s home, the assault of a senior Awami League member — and yet, the administration does nothing. Is this what governance in today’s Bangladesh looks like?
