Serious allegations of corruption involving prosecutors and investigators at Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal (ICT-BD) have raised significant concerns regarding the credibility and integrity of its proceedings. A recent investigative report by journalist David Bergman — based on joint investigations by Prothom Alo and Netra News — alleges that a former ICT prosecutor sought bribes in connection with a high-profile case.

These revelations add to earlier corruption allegations raised within the tribunal against former chief prosecutor Tajul Islam and prosecutor Gazi Monowar Hossain Tamim by fellow prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud.

If substantiated, these allegations could undermine public confidence not only in ongoing trials but also in previous convictions handled by the tribunal.
