Behind every child’s death lies a family’s emptiness and a lifetime of suffering. These deaths cannot simply be called “deaths”; rather, this is Yunus’s silent killing of children. Through Yunus’s plans and the BNP government’s willing inaction, innocent children are losing their lives, while the perpetrators are being spared.
Measles infection and child deaths:
Measles is not a new disease. There is a vaccine; prevention methods are well known. Yet so many children have died. Not even a single “sorry” has been offered. A government that has come to power through foreign money and the force of guns is not expected to have accountability to its people. From August 5 until February, none of the incidents suggested that those in power belong to this country. No reaction, no responsibility, no empathy.
Thousands of children are dying in hospitals across the country after being infected with measles, but this information is not being allowed to reach the general public—why?
While mainstream media reports only a few hundred child deaths, the actual number is in the thousands. Confidential data from the health sector shows that from January to March 2026, hospital admissions and deaths of children under five have reached several thousand.
According to preliminary statistics from the Directorate General of Health Services:
January 2026: 129,753 admissions | 2,469 deaths
February 2026: 135,348 admissions | 2,216 deaths
March 2026: 143,018 admissions | 2,582 deaths
Some experts, speaking anonymously, say that if vaccination programs are disrupted—as has happened during Yunus’s tenure—preventable diseases like measles can spread rapidly. In Bangladesh, it has now taken on a scale even larger than the coronavirus pandemic.
The story behind the resurgence of measles:
Since Yunus’s unlawful takeover, vaccination programs in Bangladesh have been restricted—almost to the point of being halted nationwide. Investigations have revealed alarming information: Yunus and his associates—including Health Advisor Nur Jahan Begum, Special Assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Md. Saidur Rahman, and Youth, Sports, and Local Government Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan—allegedly curtailed vaccination programs to serve their own interests and benefit Yunus’s own institutions.
What was Yunus’s plan, and who was involved?
The MR (Measles-Rubella) vaccine most widely used in Bangladesh has long been supplied primarily by the Serum Institute of India, as indicated by international procurement data. UNICEF procurement also shows the Serum Institute as a major supplier, widely used in Bangladesh’s EPI program.
[This is not child death — this is murder; thousands of deaths are being shown as mere hundreds]
In recent years, Biological E has also supplied MR vaccines, but historically the Serum Institute of India has been the dominant source.
However, Yunus and his associated advisors allegedly wanted to shift vaccination efforts to institutions within his Grameen network, including:
Grameen Kalyan
Grameen Health Care Services Ltd.
Grameen Health Care Trust
Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing
Yunus intended for these institutions to implement vaccination programs nationwide.
For a long time, Bangladesh received vaccines from the Indian manufacturer Serum Institute of India with UNICEF’s support. But Yunus reportedly stopped procuring vaccines from the Serum Institute in order to shift control to his own institutions, leading to the near collapse of vaccination programs across the country.
You may recall that Local Government Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan had spoken about making the health sector “self-reliant” and reducing foreign dependence—but the alleged intention was to channel the sector through Yunus’s Grameen network.
However, due to UNICEF’s reluctance, Yunus’s institutions were unable to become involved in vaccine or healthcare operations. Despite this, the administration did not restore normal vaccination programs afterward.
Discrepancies in statistics:
Within a specific timeframe, hospital admissions and deaths of children have exceeded thousands. However, official reports by the BNP government show significantly lower numbers. At the same time, the government has reportedly imposed restrictions on measles testing in hospitals across Bangladesh.
Through these actions, the BNP government is allegedly protecting the real perpetrators and hiding information from the public—but why?
Is BNP also part of this plan?
Is Tarique Rahman protecting Yunus from responsibility in exchange for coming to power?
Why are the actual death figures being reduced so drastically?
Yunus’s killing of thousands of children is not an ordinary crime—it is one of the gravest crimes against humanity. The people of the country must raise their voices now. The true scale of child deaths and infection is not being made public.
There is no escaping responsibility for these thousands of deaths—Yunus and his advisors must be held accountable. Justice for every child will be delivered on the soil of Bengal. Those who destroy the future of children deserve neither forgiveness nor sympathy—their place is in the dock, and ultimately on the gallows.
